Priest Lake and Trout Lake RR Grade
will continue to be groomed as consistently as last year. Priest Lake will be the host site for a special cross country ski race Monday, January 24, 2009. The race is open to all age groups and will be a 15k pursuit; a 7.5k mass start classic loop, then after a ski change (with the clock running), a 7.5k skate loop. Very exciting and spectator friendly.
Town Park and Idarado Legacy Trail
Trails in the Town Park and the Idarado Legacy Trail will be groomed with a new YTS Ginzugroomer and should be consistently better quality skiing.

Programs and Training Groups
Nordic Wolves “Ski Till Your Dead”
Nordic Wolves is a training group oriented toward better skiing through technical skills and conditioning. The primary focus however is to build better technique since strong skiing without technique is sloppy, limited and pointless.
The group will meet once a week for about an hour. The technical focus will partially depend on the skill level of the participants but will always focus on proper technique and the skills necessary to accomplish those techniques.
Skiing will be both classic and skate since each technique builds strength in the other. Video analysis of individual skiers will be used to enhance a complete sense of body position and the dynamics of movement.
Waxing will be discussed when the group is ready since that is a skill in and of itself.
Training Groups:
TNA will offer four training group levels for skate technique, Beginner, Alley Troupe, Race Ready and the Nordic Wolves. You can reserve your spot by signing up early at the Nordic Swap! Or call the Nordic Center 728-1144
Youth Programs Nordic SKI P.E.
Building upon last winter’s success, TNA has again collaborated with Skating P.E. to present a combined winter sports option for students from kindergarten through 6th grade. By popular demand, there will be an offering of just Nordic Skiing.
You can reserve your spot by signing up early! Call the Nordic Center 728-1144

TSSC continues Nordic Challenger Program.
Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club will continue to offer the Nordic Challenger Program. Please cheer on the returning youth skiers, Ashli Cardoza, Brooks and Colton Rodgers and Lobo James.
Lance Waring will be coaching the team for his second season. TSSC believes in the benefits of getting their racers and competitors out for some nordic skiing. Last winter, 14 kids and Coach Suplizio skied up to Cindy Farny’s Spruce Lodge, for a hut trip overnight. Melissa Plantz, coach of the Team Gravity Program, had a blast getting her kids out on skate gear. Jack Plantz, Will Plantz, Griffin Mueller, Coco Pryor and Finn Bailis all competed in the Sundance Kid Race, last February.
Telluride Snow Cats
An after school ski program that has kids, ages 8-18, learning skate and classic technique and training aerobically to enhance performance and balance in all winter sports. This program is focussed on the joy of skiing efficiently with snow soccer, capture the flag, relays and hot chocolate, among the activities. The snow cats will enjoy skiing at Town Park, on the Idarado Legacy and on the Valley Floor.
